Make eye contact Learn to make eye contact. To do so means you have an inner confidence. If your eyes are all darting around, you come off as a psycho. Practice by looking your friends in the eye as you tell them a lie. This is great practice.

 

Introduce yourself Don't say anything cheesy and stupid, unless it is by deliberate design. All things being equal, you can never go wrong by just walking up and saying "Hi, my name is so and so…" It is still the best intro.

 

Notice her body language The first exchange is extremely critical. Look at her to see if she has a little smile or shine in her eye. If she is looking around like "How can I get the hell out of here" – well, this one might not be going so well. In that case, you should start thinking the same thing.

 

Isolate yourselves - even in a crowd If you are in a crowded bar, angle yourself to block others out of the way so you can talk.  Ask her if she wants to grab a booth, which are far more private then the bar itself.  Plus, this will signal to others on the prowl that this kitty cat is yours – at least for now.

 

Develop your man cred Okay, don't ever act like you are at a bar to meet chicks.  Act like you are there to see friends, watch a game, or just chill out to get away from it all.  This gives you social capital (aka "man cred") and she will like that.  You never want to act like you are only there for the booty though you would be lying if you said otherwise.
